IGEA s.p.a.

Founded in 1980, IGEA has built a solid international reputation as a biomedical company at the forefront of advanced medical device development for orthopaedics, traumatology and electroporation. Our mission extends well beyond the creation of technology: in close collaboration with leading hospitals and universities, we develop cutting-edge solutions that contribute tangibly to the evolution of modern medicine. Within this framework, electroporation represents a key area of excellence and strategic focus for IGEA, laying the scientific and technological foundations for some of our most innovative therapeutic applications, including Electrochemotherapy.
Electrochemotherapy (ECT) is transforming the clinical approach to solid tumours. By delivering precisely controlled electrical pulses, it temporarily increases the permeability of tumour cell membranes, allowing chemotherapeutic agents to penetrate more effectively and act exactly where needed. This targeted, minimally invasive technique can be applied to a wide range of tumour types and disease stages. Used either in combination with other treatments or as a stand-alone option, ECT is well tolerated and offers a highly selective, evidence-based solution in the fight against cancer.
Driven by scientific rigour and genuine commitment, we work every day to translate innovation into clinical practice, with a single, clear objective: to improve patients’ health outcomes and quality of life.

Contribution to PreciseOnco

IGEA contributes its expertise in biophysical therapies by developing advanced electrochemotherapy technologies integrated with spectral imaging and robotics. The company will deliver a next-generation pulse generator and simulation software to optimize electrode placement, enable real-time treatment assessment, and enhance precision in minimally invasive cancer interventions.
